SBDC Day is an annual, national event recognizing the tremendous impact of Small Business Development Centers (SBDCs) on the success of the American small business community. Here in the U.S. Virgin Islands, VI SBDC Day celebrates the local entrepreneurs, businesses, and partners who contribute to the economic vitality of St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John.
SBDC Day is a one-day digital and community celebration held annually, typically in March, by America’s SBDC network and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). It highlights the collective success of our clients and promotes the crucial role SBDCs play in providing no-cost business consulting and training.
On VI SBDC Day, we showcase:
• The impact metrics of our service (jobs created, capital infused).
• Client success stories across the Territory’s diverse industries (tourism, retail, professional services).
• The strength of our local and federal partnerships.
The Virgin Islands SBDC is more than just an office; we are a vital resource for both economic development and disaster resilience in the Territory.
| Role | VI SBDC Impact |
|---|---|
| Economic Driver | We support the majority of USVI businesses, which are small firms, driving job creation and revenue growth. |
| Resilience Partner | We equip businesses with disaster preparedness plans and facilitate access to necessary federal recovery funding (like SBA disaster loans). |
| Capital Access | Our advisors prepare businesses to be "loan-ready," assisting them in securing essential capital, including working with partners like the Thomas USAF Group for large, government-guaranteed loans. |
| Training & Education | We provide workshops on critical topics such as financial management, marketing, and technology adoption, ensuring businesses remain competitive. |
VI SBDC Day is a collaborative effort. We encourage all entrepreneurs, partners, and community members to participate:
